THƠ GỞI BỐ
( Kính dâng Bố nhân ngày Father's Day và xin gởi đến tất cả những người cha trên thế giớị)
Con tìm mãi, lời vụng về, thiếu nghĩa
Và cũng không đủ ý của lòng con
Để nói lên niềm yêu kính trong hồn
Ngày của Bố. Viết bài thơ tặng Bố
Bao kỷ niệm của ngày con tuổi nhỏ
Bỗng rộn ràng sống lại, rất thiêng liêng
Con nhớ thiết tha đôi cánh tay hiền
Mà Bố đã che đời con gió bão...
Trong mắt bố là chứa chan hoài bảo
Là tràn đầy hãnh diện lúc nhìn con
Là yêu thương sâu thẳm tự tâm hồn
Là thông cảm, là hy sinh, tha thứ
Bố là mái, che đời con mưa lũ
Bố là tường ngăn nắng gió tuyết sương
Bố là nền, là sức sống thái dương
Là tất cả cho con thành khôn lớn
Có lắm lúc biển gầm đời sóng cuộn
Bố vững tay chèo lái đến bình yên
Những lúc cô đơn đối diện muộn phiền
Vẫn đứng thẳng, Bố kiên cường phấn đấu
Bố cuả con! Bố muôn đời yêu dấu!
Bố muôn đời vằng vặc tấm gương trong
Công Bố Thái Sơn, con khắc ghi lòng
Và mong được đáp đền trong muôn một
Cảm ơn Bố : một tình yêu vô lượng
Con: tàu đêm, cần lắm những vì sao!
Bố của con ơi! Thương Bố dạt dào!!!

A MESSAGE TO MY FATHER
In loving memory of my father
Also dedicated to all the fathers in the world on Father's Day
Dear Daddy,
I've done my best to look for ideas and words.
Yet I feel too awkward to find enough nicest ideas and words
To express my inmost respect and love
In a verse dedicated to you on Father's Day.
Countless sacred childhood recollections
Have suddenly revived in my mind.
I fondly miss your tender arms
Giving my stormy life protections.
In your eyes are embedded so much hope,
So much pride when you watch your child,
So much love deep in your soul's willingness,
So much pity, sacrifice and forgiveness.
You're a roof sheltering me from showers and floods.
You're a wall blocking the sun, snow, fog and whirlwind.
You're a solid foundation stone. You're the solar intensity.
You're all that has offered me wisdom and maturity.
In times of roaring oceans and crushing billows,
You've firmly steered the boat to safety.
In times of loneliness, sorrow and adversity,
You've stood straight to struggle with indomitable valor.
Dear Daddy, you're my eternally beloved father.
You've set a bright example for me forever.
Your merits are as lofty as the mighty Everest.
I'll carve in me and reward them at my best.
Thank you, Daddy. For me you're boundless compassion.
I'm a boat sailing by night. I greatly need the stars' guidance.
Oh, my beloved father! For you is my fathomless love!
